Comprehensive Sickness Insurance

Comprehensive Sickness Insurance (CSI) is an obscure requirement that affected EU citizens who had periods of not being ‘economically active’ before receiving (pre-)settled status - for example if they were students or self-sufficient. However, a judgment in the European Court of Justice in March 2022 has changed the situation significantly.

Government guidance has been updated to include the potential for compensation requests for previously refused passport applications - see here for details.

If you suffered impact through decisions on other applications, we would recommend you submit a complaint to the Home Office - see here.
