When will I need to prove I have (pre-)settled status?

To access a range of rights and services, EU citizens need to prove they are lawfully resident in the UK following the EU Settlement Scheme deadline of 30 June 2021. This includes but is not limited to the following everyday life situations: opening bank accounts, accessing medical treatment, accessing welfare, accessing education, travelling in and out of the UK, renting a property or starting a new job. You can view and prove your status online here: www.gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status. If you have applied for status under the EU Settlement Scheme but are still waiting for a decision, you should have received a Certificate of Application (CoA) to prove you have made a valid application. You should also be able to access View & Prove with a CoA.
