FAQ
I have applied for (pre-)settled status and want to see my status online. How do I do this?
You will need to sign in to the View and Prove service at https://www.gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status. You can do this on any device such as a smartphone, a tablet or computer.
You will first be asked to enter the ID document (passport, national identity card or biometric residence card / permit) with which you applied for the EU Settlement Scheme status. If you have updated your status with a new ID document, use your new details.
You will also be asked for your date of birth.
The View and Prove service will then want you to enter an OTP (One Time Passcode - also called security code or 2-factor authentication code) to make sure only you are accessing your status. It will therefore ask you whether you want to receive that security code in an email, on your phone via an SMS message. Choose which you prefer, wait for the security code to arrive and then enter it on the View and Prove service. The security code expires after 5 minutes.
You should then be able to see the details of your status, or that you have submitted an application if you are still waiting for a decision.
Below your status, there should be options to either prove your status, or update your details.
See the Government’s guidance document for full details at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/view-and-prove-your-immigration-status-evisa
If you have any problems logging in, see this FAQ: I am trying to log in to View & Prove to see my status but I get an error.
If you are told that your share code is not working see this FAQ: I have generated a share code, but the organisation checking it says it does not work. Where can I get support?
If you find you cannot receive your security code, see this FAQ: I don’t have access to the email account or telephone number that were used in my application for (pre-)settled status. I can’t view (or prove) my status because I can’t get the security code that the system sends. What can I do?
