Exploring our manifesto themes

Following dozens of listening sessions with communities across the UK, our EU Citizens' Campaigns Network came together in Birmingham to discuss our four key manifesto themes.

We are grateful to work with such brilliant members represent many EU nationalities, regions & communities across the UK 🇪🇺🇬🇧

Firstly, our communities are still struggling and facing barriers with exercising their rights under the EU Settlement Scheme and the Withdrawal Agreement. People struggle to prove their right to live and work due to the Home Office’s flawed digital-only ‘view and prove’ immigration system. Pre-settled status holders are pushed into destitution due to lack of access to welfare support.

Moreover, we discussed the barriers faced by EU citizens moving to the UK under the new immigration regime and the barriers to a fair and compassionate immigration system for everyone. EU citizens who are racialised or minoritised experience the harshest discrimination. We aim to shed light on what we can do as a collective to build solidarity among EU citizens of different backgrounds.

Across the Network and through our Manifesto we hope to promote EU citizens' representation and participation in British society, calling for residence-based voting rights and enable more EU citizens to influence their Local Authorities.
